How to Burn Videos to DVD on Mac OS X

Step 1Download Leawo DVD Creator for Mac and add files

Click the "Add Videos" button, or directly drag and drop source videos/video folders into Leawo DVD Creator for Mac.

Tips: At the bottom, choose to burn video to DVD-5 or DVD-9, set aspect ratio and bit rate at the bottom of Leawo DVD Creator for Mac. Space for output DVD content is visible here.

Step 2Related program settings

Click on the "Preference" button on the program's menu bar to call out the "Settings" panel to do related program settings:
"General": Choose program interface language.
"Conversion": Set to use "Priority native codec" or not.
"Burn": Set default DVD video mode from NTSC and PAL.
"Others": Add external subtitle, choose encoding, choose thumbnail (screenshot) location and format

Step 3Burning settings

After program setting, click the "Apply" button and then hit "OK" button to return to the main interface. Click the big green "Burn" button. On the popup sidebar, set "Burn to" option (Folder, ISO File, and/or Disc), "Disc Label", and "Save to" options. With all settings on the popup sidebar done, click on "Burn " button to start to burn video to DVD (DVD-5/DVD-9) or ISO image.

Note: To burn video to DVD disc, you need to insert a blank writable DVD disc into DVD recorder drive and then choose it as target under the "Burn to" option. The output disc type you've set at the bottom should be in accordance with the DVD disc you inserted into the DVD recorder drive.

Step 1Add photos

Click the "Add Photo" button, or directly drag and drop source photo files/photo folders into Leawo DVD Creator for Mac. Loaded photos would be generated into photo slideshow automatically. You could then play back generated photos.

Note: After generating photo slideshow by loading source photos, move mouse to the bottom and then set output DVD disc type according to the DVD disc you've inserted or you want to create, bit rate and aspect ratio. View required hard disk space at the bottom.

Step 2Set disc menu (optional)

You could add a disc menu to output DVD photo slideshow by selecting desired one from the right sidebar. Click the middle to preview it.

On the preview panel click the pencil-shaped icon to enter the disc menu editing panel to edit disc menu, like: add background music/image/video, adjust title position and content, change text color, size, font, etc.

Step 3Edit photo slideshow

The built-in photo slideshow editor allows you to edit generated photo slideshow as you like. Right click the generated photo slideshow title and then choose "Edit" option, or directly click the "Edit" icon in the generated photo slideshow title to enter the photo slideshow editing panel.

Under the "Video" tab, you're able to insert external photos, remove/reposition existing photos, set photo duration, add transition and set transition duration.

Under the "Audio" tab, you could add fovarite song as background music and then set the background music effect.

Step 4DVD photo slideshow burning settings

With disc menu and photo slideshow editing finished, return to the main interface and then click the big green "Burn" button. On the popup sidebar, set "Burn to", "Disc Label" and "Save to" options. Required hard disk space is displayed. Ater these settings, click the bottom "Burn" button to start burning photo to DVD photo slideshow on Mac.

Note: "Burn to" option allows multiple choices. That means you could create an ISO image file while burning DVD photo slideshow on Mac. To burn photo to DVD slideshow on Mac, insert a blank writable DVD disc into the DVD recorder drive beforehand, set output disc type at the bottom according to the disc you've inserted, and then choose the disc recorder as output target under the "Burn to" option.

Part 1Preview disc menu

On the right sidebar of the main interface, Leawo DVD Creator for Mac provides multiple disc menu templates for you to add to output DVD content in different themes: Standard, Business, Childhood, Education, Holiday, Nature, Sports, and Wedding. To add a disc menu, choose one from them.

In"Built-in": Templates preset in the software.
In"Online": Download more disc menu templates online.
In"Custom": Templates designed and saved by yourself.

Part 2Design DVD menu

By clicking the middle eye-shaped icon, you could preview selected disc menu.

Click the "Play" button on the preview panel to play and preview the main menu. Click the "Scene" button on the menu, then you can see all the chapters listed in the menu for playback.

To design disc menu, click the pencil-shaped "Edit" icon on the disc menu preview panel to enter the disc menu designing panel.

On the disc menu design panel, you could edit the main menu and chapters, drag title to change its location, change title content by double click, and then right click title content to change text color, size, font, etc. Also, click the icons at the bottom to add background music/video/image as you like. Save designed disc menu to "Custom" group after editing.

Video Editing

Including a mini video editor, Leawo DVD Creator for Mac allows you to edit loaded videos before burning to DVD content. Select a loaded video, right click and then select "Edit" option, or directly click the "Edit" icon in selected video title to enter the video editing panel. The built-in media player offers instant preview of any editing.

Trim video: Under “Trim” tab, you can get an exact length of video you want to put into the DVD by setting the “Start Time” and “End Time” values or directly drag the triangles on the play bar.

Add watermark: Go to "Watermark" tab and slide "Watermark" option to green, then you could select to apply an image or text watermark. Set the parameters of image or text watermark as you like, including: color, position, font, transparency, etc.

Crop video: Go to "Crop" to get rid of black margins if there is any. You can firstly select a cropping style in “Zoom” and then adjust values of “Left” and “Top”, or directly drag the dot frame on the Original Preview window. Also, you could rotate videos here.

Adjust effect: Go to "Effect" to enhance video and audio detail by adjusting brightness, contrast, saturation and volume.

Convert 3D: Go to "3D Settings" panel, slide "3D Mode" option to green and then select one from Red/Cyan, Red/Green, Red/Blue, Blue/Yellow, Interleaved, and Side by Side as output 3D effect. Adjust 3D Depth by dragging the slider. Get instant preview via the internal player.

Remove Noise: Click on "Remove Noise" tab and click on the “Remove noise” button to activate the function, then the unwanted noise will be removed in the output.
